Point & Shoot

I am in the market for a new Point & Shoot Camera.

I have a 3 year old Sony Cyber-Shot 12.1 but it has seen better days.

It has gotten wet... in rain and with wet hands. It has been sandy, dirty, and sticky. It has really held up and I am impressed.

There are a few things I don't/ didn't like though:
  1. Does not take an SD card... Takes a Sony Memory StickDuo
  2. Takes a long time to focus and shot on Auto
  3. The shutter will not close anymore (seems that cybershots have issues with their shutter
  4. It does not consistently take good photos
Things I do/ did like:
  1. Video recording ability (use it almost daily)
  2. Manual options
  3. Compactness (it's a word I just made up)
Most of the pictures your will see on  The Journey of Three Stones were taking via this camera. Granted... some of the blurriness could be caused by user error. But the camera itself is not consistent.

That being said, I am looking for a great PNS camera with:
  • Manual Mode (I love shooting my DSLR but it's not always practical)
  • Video recording
  • SD card
  • Consistency
  • Compactness
  • Durability.
Have you seen one? Do you have one? Are you are representative of a company who sells ones? I would love to do a review on a camera. Pictures of camera and detailed thoughts and opinions will be given.

HeadBands ROCK!!

I love headbands!!

As a mom with three kiddos under three {read about them here} I don't often get a chance to make my hair look "pretty". Most of the time, it's in a messy bun or pony tail.

So taking a cue from all the fashion mags... I started creating adult headbands. ROCKIN', awesome headbands. Or as I tell my husband... {Pretty Bands}

A Pretty Band can spruce up any hair style... even when my hair is dirty. And I know you moms know what I am talking about!!
So if you have chance... take a look at what Only Prettier has to offer.

Only Prettier

The joy that overwhelmed me when I found out I was having twins was unbelievable... and then to find out one was a girl took my breath away.

I have always dreamed of having a little girl. My mom and I were always very close growing up and we are still close to this day. She is my best friend. We share ideas... laugh... joke and tease with each other. Yet she's my rock and is always there for me no matter what.

One thing my mom taught me was to express myself and to be creative. We didn't have a lot of money so mom would whip out her sewing machine and create something. Most of our Halloween costumes were homemade. My hand-me downs revamped... and my hair ties never store bought. Looking back at all the goodies makes me smile. My mom is a genius!!

To this day... she tells me to make something work even if I think it can't. She also reminds me to shop at the "cheap stores" and garage sales.

Just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean its junk!!

Growing up I was into beading... and making jewelry... then I started revamping jeans (Rockies and Wranglers to be exact hahaha) and then the craft bug hit me!! & once you have it, you've got it for life :)
.
Since finding out I was having a daughter, I started creating hair candy. From boutique bows, to korkers, to clips and now on to bigger and better things like facinators (my new love) and headbands!!

I have finally decided to start selling some... Nothing too professional as they are made by me... at my kitchen table, while the kids are busy.

I started a Facebook Page with some product and prices. Once we hit a 150 likes... all "likers" will get 20% off that day!!

Once we get to 300 likes... I will do a {GREAT} GIVEAWAY!!

So what are you waiting for?? Check it out... :)

This picture of my sweet {Alexandra} was not planned... but I couldn't resist sharing.

2 Weeks In

June 1st, 2010 I decided to make a change and to be serious about this change.

I want results and the only way to get results is to be driven!!

People who are reading this, who don't know me personally, are probably wondering, "What the heck is this lady rambling on about?" Well, if you read some of the blog's past posts like Big B.S. Flag then you'd know weight seems to be a concern of mine.

Growing up, I was always athletic and fit. I played baseball/ softball, basketball, football amongst other sports and activities.

When I moved to Texas in early 2002, I weighed 138 lbs. And I wore a size 0-2.

HUGE difference in what my measurements are today, to speak. I now weigh about 175lbs and wear a 10-12... I am 5'2''  and a HALF!!

Pictures taken 2 weeks in : 6-14-2010

Now, some people may think that's fine and not a big deal... well when I went to my doctor a couple of weeks ago I was {enlightened} that I was obese. Yes, people, OBESE. Don't believe me... check out the BMI Calculator.

When I think of someone "obese" I don't think of my size. I think of someone larger than a size 22. Someone who's all jiggles and eats junk food all day.

Don't get me wrong... I jiggle too!! (and like my share of junk) LOL But I have a lot of muscle in my thighs and other areas as well. I know I am overweight... but I wasn't ready to here the other "O" word.

Just around that time, my girlfriend, LeeAnn, started talking about Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. She was stoked that she lost 2 inches from her waist in 2 weeks. Now, LeeAnn has a cute little body, she got 30 Day Shred to tone up not to really lose weight. And well... I am not sure if she lost any weight or not, I need to ask her but she is so happy with her results she's moved on to another Jillian Michaels' DVD.

After talking to LeeAnn...and hearing about her results I decided to get the 30 Day Shred as well. I decided I needed to do this for me!! And that I could definitely find 20 minutes out of the day to work out. Even as a mother of 3.

{I have had 3 babies in the last 3 years. A set of twins in 2007, and a singleton in 2009... you can read about them on The Journey of Three Stones

Along with "Shredding" I am trying to focus on eating better and drinking more water. I have started eating high protein breakfasts, eating Weight Watchers Smart Ones during the day, and having a sensible dinner at night (lean protein, veggies and very minimal carbs). I am trying to follow the FAMOUS Weight Watchers Point System... but have not joined.

I know the points I need to be within are 23-24 and with great websites like Dottie's Weight Loss Zone I can calculate WW points for things I normally eat, INCLUDING Chik-Fil-A!! :) Who knew getting a wheat bun would cut so many points?!? I didn't!!

I am hoping within the next 6 months to get my BMI down to normal... and to be in a size 4. Weight has never really mattered to me... it's the size that does!!

I know I can do this!! Follow me on this journey.

Start your own journey. I know you can do it too.

Have suggestions... share them please. I would love to hear from others.

The BIG B.S, Flag!!!

So as an avid celebrity news/ tabloid reader... I have come to accept that some things are fact while others are a mere illusions.

Nothing can hit the nail on the head more so then the article featured in this weeks "Star Magazine" featuring Nadya Suleman - Octomom.

As I sat at the kitchen table this morning, reading this article... thoughts of doubt and curiosity ran rapidly through my head.

This woman is saying she had NO surgeries what's so ever to get back to 120 lbs!!

That might be fine and dandy... but you cannot tell me that she did not have a tummy tuck. She was carrying 8 babies!! And I personally know about skin sag and I only had twins. Not to mention the dreaded "c-section pouch."

Oh and STRETCH MARKS!! There are no stretch marks. Really? LOL. She credits the disappearance of stretch marks to special creams that have growth hormones in it to stimulate collagen production. Heck, if that is the case get me a jug!!

And is it me or does her belly button look fake?

So in a year she went from this:

To that.

Now, I am not saying she doesn't look better... I am just saying BE HONEST about how you got there.

-Disgruntled mom of 3 w/ the stretch marks, loose skin and c-section to prove it
