I have a 3 year old Sony Cyber-Shot 12.1 but it has seen better days.

It has gotten wet... in rain and with wet hands. It has been sandy, dirty, and sticky. It has really held up and I am impressed.

There are a few things I don't/ didn't like though:

Does not take an SD card... Takes a Sony Memory StickDuo

Takes a long time to focus and shot on Auto

The shutter will not close anymore (seems that cybershots have issues with their shutter

It does not consistently take good photos

Things I do/ did like:

Video recording ability (use it almost daily)

Manual options

Compactness (it's a word I just made up)

Most of the pictures your will see on The Journey of Three Stones were taking via this camera. Granted... some of the blurriness could be caused by user error. But the camera itself is not consistent.

That being said, I am looking for a great PNS camera with:

Manual Mode (I love shooting my DSLR but it's not always practical)

Video recording

SD card

Consistency

Compactness

Durability.

Have you seen one? Do you have one? Are you are representative of a company who sells ones? I would love to do a review on a camera. Pictures of camera and detailed thoughts and opinions will be given.Kristihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07343508039715063625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450049960041067681.post-70095366758266705002010-08-05T09:36:00.000-07:002010-08-05T09:41:29.173-07:00HeadBands ROCK!!
I love headbands!!

As a mom with three kiddos under three {read about them here} I don't often get a chance to make my hair look "pretty". Most of the time, it's in a messy bun or pony tail.

So taking a cue from all the fashion mags... I started creating adult headbands. ROCKIN', awesome headbands. Or as I tell my husband... {Pretty Bands}

A Pretty Band can spruce up any hair style... even when my hair is dirty. And I know you moms know what I am talking about!!

So if you have chance... take a look at what Only Prettier has to offer.

I have always dreamed of having a little girl. My mom and I were always very close growing up and we are still close to this day. She is my best friend. We share ideas... laugh... joke and tease with each other. Yet she's my rock and is always there for me no matter what.

One thing my mom taught me was to express myself and to be creative. We didn't have a lot of money so mom would whip out her sewing machine and create something. Most of our Halloween costumes were homemade. My hand-me downs revamped... and my hair ties never store bought. Looking back at all the goodies makes me smile. My mom is a genius!!

To this day... she tells me to make something work even if I think it can't. She also reminds me to shop at the "cheap stores" and garage sales.

Just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean its junk!!

Growing up I was into beading... and making jewelry... then I started revamping jeans (Rockies and Wranglers to be exact hahaha) and then the craft bug hit me!! & once you have it, you've got it for life :)
.
Since finding out I was having a daughter, I started creating hair candy. From boutique bows, to korkers, to clips and now on to bigger and better things like facinators (my new love) and headbands!!

I have finally decided to start selling some... Nothing too professional as they are made by me... at my kitchen table, while the kids are busy.

I started a Facebook Page with some product and prices. Once we hit a 150 likes... all "likers" will get 20% off that day!!

Once we get to 300 likes... I will do a {GREAT} GIVEAWAY!!

So what are you waiting for?? Check it out... :)

I want results and the only way to get results is to be driven!!

People who are reading this, who don't know me personally, are probably wondering, "What the heck is this lady rambling on about?" Well, if you read some of the blog's past posts like Big B.S. Flag then you'd know weight seems to be a concern of mine.

Growing up, I was always athletic and fit. I played baseball/ softball, basketball, football amongst other sports and activities.

When I moved to Texas in early 2002, I weighed 138 lbs. And I wore a size 0-2.

HUGE difference in what my measurements are today, to speak. I now weigh about 175lbs and wear a 10-12... I am 5'2'' and a HALF!!

Pictures taken 2 weeks in : 6-14-2010

Now, some people may think that's fine and not a big deal... well when I went to my doctor a couple of weeks ago I was {enlightened} that I was obese. Yes, people, OBESE. Don't believe me... check out the BMI Calculator.

When I think of someone "obese" I don't think of my size. I think of someone larger than a size 22. Someone who's all jiggles and eats junk food all day.

Don't get me wrong... I jiggle too!! (and like my share of junk) LOL But I have a lot of muscle in my thighs and other areas as well. I know I am overweight... but I wasn't ready to here the other "O" word.

Just around that time, my girlfriend, LeeAnn, started talking about Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. She was stoked that she lost 2 inches from her waist in 2 weeks. Now, LeeAnn has a cute little body, she got 30 Day Shred to tone up not to really lose weight. And well... I am not sure if she lost any weight or not, I need to ask her but she is so happy with her results she's moved on to another Jillian Michaels' DVD.

After talking to LeeAnn...and hearing about her results I decided to get the 30 Day Shred as well. I decided I needed to do this for me!! And that I could definitely find 20 minutes out of the day to work out. Even as a mother of 3.

{I have had 3 babies in the last 3 years. A set of twins in 2007, and a singleton in 2009... you can read about them on The Journey of Three Stones}

Along with "Shredding" I am trying to focus on eating better and drinking more water. I have started eating high protein breakfasts, eating Weight Watchers Smart Ones during the day, and having a sensible dinner at night (lean protein, veggies and very minimal carbs). I am trying to follow the FAMOUS Weight Watchers Point System... but have not joined.

I know the points I need to be within are 23-24 and with great websites like Dottie's Weight Loss Zone I can calculate WW points for things I normally eat, INCLUDING Chik-Fil-A!! :) Who knew getting a wheat bun would cut so many points?!? I didn't!!

I am hoping within the next 6 months to get my BMI down to normal... and to be in a size 4. Weight has never really mattered to me... it's the size that does!!

I know I can do this!! Follow me on this journey.

Start your own journey. I know you can do it too.

I have come to accept that some things are fact while others are a mere illusions.

Nothing can hit the nail on the head more so then the article featured in this weeks "Star Magazine" featuring Nadya Suleman - Octomom.

As I sat at the kitchen table this morning, reading this article... thoughts of doubt and curiosity ran rapidly through my head.

This woman is saying she had NO surgeries what's so ever to get back to 120 lbs!!

That might be fine and dandy... but you cannot tell me that she did not have a tummy tuck. She was carrying 8 babies!! And I personally know about skin sag and I only had twins. Not to mention the dreaded "c-section pouch."

Oh and STRETCH MARKS!! There are no stretch marks. Really? LOL. She credits the disappearance of stretch marks to special creams that have growth hormones in it to stimulate collagen production. Heck, if that is the case get me a jug!!

And is it me or does her belly button look fake?

So in a year she went from this:

To that.

Now, I am not saying she doesn't look better... I am just saying BE HONEST about how you got there.

-Disgruntled mom of 3 w/ the stretch marks, loose skin and c-section to prove itKristihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07343508039715063625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450049960041067681.post-80444543382325328312009-08-24T06:37:00.001-07:002009-08-24T07:09:12.583-07:00A Confidence Building ReadThis morning, I was woken by the sound of my beautiful daughter's voice, "Mama, night night?" She was up and was checking to see if I was awake as well.

As I pulled her into bed with me so we could snuggle I tried to capture every little thing that made her HER into my heart and my memory.

Her frizzy little bed head curls, her slight morning breath, the crusties around her beautiful almond shaped eyes, her chunky little thighs and her sweet smile. She is perfect!! There is nothing I would change about her.

Then I realized that she has so many traits of mine... specifically the frizzy bed head curls, and chunky thighs. Traits that I really don't appreciate or like. Things that I would love to change about myself. Things I would never want her to be self conscious about. Which I am totally giving the wrong impression about.

Amazingly, when I turned on the TV to watch Elmo, Matt Lauer w/ the Today Show was on talking about a Plus Sized Model who bared it all in Glamour Magazine.

Lizzie Miller, a 20 year old model, is a size 12. Not what I consider plus size nor fat. She is an average sized woman. A beautiful young lady who posed numerous times for Glamour Magazine.

To me, Lizzie is a REAL woman. Some one I can look at and not be self conscious about the way I look or how clothes fits me. She exercises, eats right and loves life!! She is an inspiration to so many women young and old thin or curvy; Size 2 to 26!!

The article that Lizzie's photo appears in was touching. There were parts of it that I swore came right out of my head. And then there were the parts that made me tear up.

"A lot of my female clients make anxious comments like, ‘You’ve probably never seen thighs this big,’ or they apologize if they have a day’s worth of stubble on their legs. It’ll take a few sessions for them to relax and enjoy the massage." - Jennifer Phillips, certified massage therapist

That is me!! I can't tell you how many times I have felt awkward having a bit of a stubble on my legs when I went to get a pedicure.

“Since pregnancy is such a transformational time, I use the opportunity to plant seeds with expectant mothers. I point out that women’s bodies are soft and round for a reason. For example, hips widen to accommodate the weight of a new life. And what we call the pooch—the slight roundness of the belly—stores needed estrogen. We’ve been poisoning ourselves with unrealistic images for so long that we see these parts as liabilities. But we can create life, for God’s sake! So I want all of us, pregnant or not, to embrace the changes our bodies undergo as a part of the natural order of things.” -Sue Baelen, licensed midwife

Beautiful!!! We are woman, we should embrace our curves.Kristihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07343508039715063625noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450049960041067681.post-90606224022657434182009-02-20T07:23:00.000-08:002009-02-20T07:41:08.474-08:00A Memory from the Past I was 18... and in love. He, Brian, was 21 and ready to gamble.

Las Vegas was the first trip we did together. And the trip was a gracious 21st Birthday gift from Brian's parents.

How much cooler of a gift can you get when you turn 21? Not to mention, his parents invited his girlfriend (me) along as well.

Brian is a lucky duck!!

We, Brian, Craig & Terry, Jackie and then husband, Grangon, Denise & Kinney, and I spent Thanksgiving week 2001 in Las Vegas!!

It was a great time, and wonderful experience.

The lights twinkled and gleamed, the food was abundant, and the slots were loose. Vegas is the "Magic Kingdom" to adults as Disneyland is the magic kingdom to kids...

One evening when Jackie and Terry went to Cirque De Soliel, Craig, Brian & I walked the "strip". We drank "chee chee's" from the Harrah's and laughed. Not a whole lot of gambling went on. It was more of a learning experience. I will never forget that night. I learnt a lot about my future father in law... and my future husband.

Little did I know that more family trips like the one to Vegas would be in my future.

And little did everyone else know, that Brian and I considered getting married at the Chapel in the MGM hotel.Kristihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07343508039715063625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450049960041067681.post-26144545081548880992009-02-02T09:56:00.000-08:002009-02-02T10:16:45.804-08:00ACAI Berry and Cleanse DietsAs the sun starts warming the earth with hugs I start to realize that summer is on it's way.

Before you know it, it's going to be 100 degrees!! Shorts, and sun dresses will fill my wardrobe but embarrasement will fill my mind.

I am 5'2'' and about 175lbs!! Yes folks, if you use a BMI calculator I am obese. Do I look "obese"... no I don't think so. I wear a size 10/12, which I guess isn't that big. But it is bigger then I want to be.

I would LOVE to be a 4 again!!

For years, I wore a 0/2 so you can imagine the shock when I bought a pair of jeans that were a 12.

I am done crying. But I am not done wishing I had the same body I had when I was in my late teens/ early 20's. I am tired of hearing my weight compared to what it used to be from my family. I know they aren't saying it to be mean or inconsiderate. They are worried and see these HORRIBLE changes.

Now, a little background. I have PCOS which tends to make people hold weight no matter what. I should really limit my carb intake because of PCOS and I really have been.

But no matter what I do, I gain weight.

When I was pregnant with Alexandra and Grayson, I gain 19 lbs.

After giving birth to them, I was 153. Man, what I would give to be 153 again!! Now, mind you, I have increased my activity and I think I am eating healthier... yet I have gained 20+ lbs in 14 months!!

All of these Acai Berry & Cleanse diets/ advertisements intrigue me. I wish I knew if they TRULY worked. Boy, I would do it in a heart beat if I knew they did.

How I wish I could wear shorts this summer... or even better... How I wish I could stop deleting pictures of myself with my babies because I look FAT!!!Kristihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07343508039715063625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450049960041067681.post-76632625803358244292008-09-24T11:13:00.000-07:002008-09-24T11:15:58.747-07:00Erased and Moved!!!So, before I was familiar with blogger I had two accounts.
